This competition is designed for senior ḥuffāẓ (25 years and above) and consists of two main components: Ḥifẓ and Waṣl al-Āyāt.
The Ḥifẓ section covers the entire Qur'an, with recitation performed in ḥadr style (a fast-paced recitation while maintaining a high standard of tajwīd, precision, and fluency). Participants may recite using either qaṣr or tawassuṭ in al-madd al-munfaṣil (optional).
The Waṣl al-Āyāt section focuses on the accurate continuation and connection of verses. Participants will be tested on both shorter and longer āyāt, requiring them to correctly complete and connect passages with precision and confidence.
The competition is open to male participants only.
Prize money will be awarded to the top achievers.
Contestants may enter independently or as representatives of a madrasah, institution, or Qur'ān school.
The preliminary round for participants residing in the Western Cape will be conducted in person at the designated venue.
Participants from other provinces will be accommodated through an online preliminary round on the same day. The specific times and further arrangements for the online preliminaries will be communicated in due course.
Any ḥāfiẓ residing outside the Western Cape who progresses to the finals will be responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation costs.
